Where have I been?

Where have I been? Amazing I haven't posted in so long. Well, I'm here now, not much to talk about. Blah blah blah ......

Hold onto your hats, folks

Just in case you come here and you've been seeing dogs and assorted other strange things on the blog, that's cuz I'm a tryin to learn how to put other templates (the basic background stuff, pictures and layout) on the blog here. I surfed around and found some cute ones for free, but I have not yet mastered how to make them *work*. So who knows what you might see when you come here.... ducks, dogs, dolphins.

Been a while since I posted here.... and that would be cuz I should be studying right now instead of messing around with cute dog pictures! Oh well, my sanguine side just gets restless from all that studying sometimes. Come May, there will be more time to play.

Just made myself feel guilty..... so I will get back to writing... ttfn ~~ Grace

On my mind tonight....

So what is bouncing around in my head tonight? Hmmmmm..... the possibilities of the future. I am so curious to see what's going to happen next in my life. The Lord has it figured out already, I know that, but I am curious cuz I feel like I'm on the edge of something wonderful. No clue what it is, but that is what's on my mind right now.

I guess that's all I've got to say. I'm studying for my final exam, I should have taken it today, but that's all right. I don't feel stressed about it --- and that is truly *weird* for me. I'm learning how to reign in the kids but maintain the loving connection.

Oh yeah.... true confession here.... I made index cards, printed on my computer for each month of the year, and I clipped them to each month in our receipt file, and I'm actually getting hubby to total the receipts for each month and write the totals on the index cards!! Ok, so how many points do I get here, girls?? I get to be super duper organized for the tax man next year (Yay!!) plus got hubby involved in the finances (Wow!) So tell me, I bet ya'all are want'in some of my cute little cards, aren't ya? SMILES!!!!

So what does the red and khaki crowd think of THAT??? (wink, wink)

Losing my mind...

Somebody please tell me if you can see (1) my "Math Genius" posting and (2) in the "Contributors" listing to the right can you see "Songsign"?? I have republished, refreshed, re-logged in, and these things don't show up when I view the blog.

I have learned that its a "known issue" that if you are using Windows, the hard-return doesn't work if you just hit "Enter". If you use Shift-Enter, it works just fine.

Ok, enough technicalities for the evening....

Good night

Grace Spawns MATH GENIUS!!!

Well who knew, I must have done something right in raising the man-cub. Darn near freaked when I got a message on my TTY from his teacher telling me the boy had beat out the other fifth graders to represent his school in the MATH OLYMPICS!!

YEEEEHAWWWW!!!! We're not talking math facts like 2+2 either, we're talking math "reasoning" (whatever that is) and percentages, and (I almost can't breathe) STORY PROBLEMS.

Yep, there has been yet another miracle in this family..... and one proud mama that still adds, and especially subtracts, on her fingers. I am sure you are all substantially impressed as well.

Here at Last!

I finally made it here! I don't know what that means, but I am here! I just discovered that I am ALL POWERFUL (BWAHAHAHAHA!!) Which when translated, means I can edit your stuff, Squiddy my dear! It is quite possible, however, that I can only do this because I was demonstrating how to post in the first place...... I prefer the omnipotent spin though. Hope you manage to swim on over here again. Most sorry the whole screen name thingy didn't work. Hate to see you stuck in spam filters everywhere. Hmmmm, most interesting is it appears I can add more words to your post, but not an end-of-the-line thingy. Therefore, if you should ever notice a never ending slew of run on sentences without a blank line between paragraphs, well, you know who did it. -Grace

Bloggedy-blog

It's official.... we are DSL hooked-up, and soon to be Sorenson phone hooked up. YEAH! All this technical stuff has been frustrating, cuz I'm the kind of person that just expects all this stuff to WORK when you plug it in..... I know, I know, too many expectations.

Well, now I have actually experienced using a computer to "chat" with my daughter across the room!! We have the technology!! HA HA HA HA!! I also just impressed myself by logging into my bank account online and noticing I did not, in fact, have time to go make a sandwich by the time the page loaded. WA-LA! Yes, my dear Patience, I am launching an all-out attack on the French spelling of French words.

Well, I expect you won't be reading this before we meet again; henceforth, I shall "save it". Perhaps a certain non-blood relative of mine will manage to get onboard here at our next meeting. That would be oh, so satisfactory.

My big dillemma tonight is whether or not to password the "boys" from the DSL toy. Alas, I do fear they may not be able to tolerate it.

Cheerio(s)

My dear Patience....

Gotta tell ya, I almost snorted my Pepsi when I read that name, until I read your email explanation. Whew! (still blowing it out of my nose) Glad to have you on board. Well I did manage to finally get that nasty homework done last night at 1:40am (it was due before midnight, you think the teacher will notice?) By that time I was ready to write just about anything, ugh. Kept getting stuck on that ole "what did you learn from this and such website?" I could tell ya what they had on the website, I could even comment, but that whole "learning" thing was hard.

This morning was a fog. Although, I did discover I have some hidden talent.... I managed to sew the elastic into both of my youngest's ballet slippers while waiting for Teenager to complete her makeup. On four hours sleep, that is quite an accomplishment! Teenager managed to remain alive all the way to school too. We now have this Hollywood-esque "kissy-kissy" thing we do so as to not mess up her lipgloss.

Enough about the offspring! I need to have my brain "stimulated" in order to keep it from going any further south. So on with adult conversation, yadda, yadda, yadda......

Avoiding my homework....

This is not difficult to do, especially when the question is so difficult. I have to write 500 words on my opinion about Alzheimers patients who wish to commit suicide while their symptoms are still mild. My problem is not the lack of an opinion (of course I have an opinion, smile!) My problem is my professor won't let me just wave the Bible in the air as my reason. She actually expects me to back up my opinion in a logical, thorough manner. Not to mention I could sum it up in about 50 words, but stretching that to 500 is going to be a challenge. Unfortunately for me, while there are plenty of websites on Alzheimers, they don't tend to address this issue. Somehow I think my professor knew that! Anybody with comments, jump right in.....

I will post later on how it all went

Deaf stress

I can't wait to get a Sorenson videophone. Relay calls are so frustrating! Today I got yet another person hung up on me because they had "clients" they were taking care of on the other phone line and "didn't have time for this". Good thing I know my vet's fax number, cuz I faxed them asking them to please either call back thru Relay or fax me back to get an appt. Finally got my appt., but this whole process took nearly an hour.

Using the telephone is such a HUGE barrier for me. I procrastinate like crazy every time I have to make a call, cuz I know it will take a ridiculous amount of time to get something accomplished which my hearing husband, or any hearing person for that matter would take 2 minutes to accomplish by phone. There are so many sources of stress, anger, and frustration trying to deal with communication. Sometimes I think I must be the only one that gets so frustrated by this stuff, until a chance turn in a conversation reveals that I am definitely not alone. I was surprised by how much frustration came out of my pastor when we ended up talking about it. So I guess there is a lot more frustration from others, they just don't show it like I do.
